Laurie has been a passionate member of the GHBA with a servant’s heart since 2003. She was formally installed as a GHBA board member in 2019 and has served as a Sales & Marketing Council (SMC) board member since 2005 where she continues to play a key role in flagship events including the Million Dollar Circle Awards and the Houston’s Best PRISM Awards. She was honored by the SMC as Associate of the Year in 2007 and Board Member of the Year in 2014. In 2015, former GHBA President Leslie King recognized Laurie with a Presidential Citation for outstanding dedication to the GHBA – a moment Laurie said she will “always treasure.”

She attends MCBDD, BABA and Associate Council meetings whenever she can, participates in Rally Day, and enjoys being part of the Frank Aranza Adopt-a-Family event each year.

“There will never be enough hours in the day to be involved in worthwhile endeavors that make a difference in the lives of others, but I am very grateful to the GHBA for the many wonderful opportunities I’ve had to do just that,” Laurie said. “The GHBA is my second home; their amazing staff and incredible members are family.”

Born and raised in the Boston area, she earned her college degree in Administrative Management. Laurie has called Houston home since July of 1990. She supports MD Anderson’s Blanton-Davis Ovarian Cancer Research program in memory of her Aunt Sandy and volunteers for Cocker Spaniel Rescue of East Texas. Her fiancé, Don, is a financial advisor for Edward Jones and they recently moved into a new home in The Woodlands Hills with their two dogs, Maxximus and Jessye. An August 2021 wedding is planned.
