Vendors & Suppliers Join with ASGi Homes to Build a ‘Home for Good’

Terry SwensonBenefit Homes Project, Featured

To build a GHBA Benefit Home, it takes a team of generous builders, developers, suppliers, and trades to make it a successful fundraiser. ASGi Homes is setting the bar high as they’ve partnered with dozens of their loyal vendors and suppliers to construct a Benefit Home in Williams Reserve East located in Conroe, Texas. It is the first home under construction in the new development. The homesite was donated by Ellison Development—part of the ASGi family of companies. ASGi Homes accomplished an amazing feat by signing more than 100% donations needed to complete the home, even before the official groundbreaking March 1.

ASGi Homes is building the Olivia Plan, a one-story, 1,932-square-foot design with three bedrooms, two full baths, an open-concept common area and a study that could flex to a fourth bedroom. The home will feature tile flooring, granite countertops, 42-inch cabinets, a kitchen island and 9-foot ceilings. The home will also have a three-car garage. The home is well under construction, and as of mid-April, has been roofed and the HVAC and electric have been roughed in.

“At ASGi Homes, we build affordable homes with quality, name brand products. Our homes are built by craftsmen, so each is unique,” said Mike Wilson, vice president of construction. “Everyone on the ASGi team, including our vendors, trades and manufacturing partners, are fully committed to delivering quality homes. Our team has spent decades cultivating relationships with our vendors, trades, and manufacturers. It is because of these relationships, and the friendships formed that makes the vision of affordable home ownership possible. I truly believe we would not be where we are today had it not been for everyone believing the vision cast by the company’s founder, Bill Ellison.”

Williams Reserve East, is located in Conroe along FM 1484 east of Bowder Traylor Road. ASGi Homes is the exclusive builder in the community, offering nine floor plans for homesites that are three-quarters of an acre or larger. Pricing is from the $270,000s, and floor plans range from 1,200 to 2,374 square feet.

“ASGi Homes is truly fortunate to have the trade and vendor partners that we do,” said Craig Spriggs, director of purchasing. “Without their generosity this project would not be possible. I am continually amazed at the giving nature of others in our industry that want nothing in return for helping with a project like the Benefit Homes Project. We are grateful to have companies and individuals that have teamed up with us, that share the ASGi spirit of giving.”

About the Benefit Homes Project

Each year, two homes are built for the Benefit Homes Project with as many donations as possible. The homes offer popular upgrades and amenities in a design that meets the demands of today’s homebuyer. Once the homes are sold, the majority of proceeds benefit HomeAid Houston, a charity that builds transitional housing for the homeless, and Operation Finally Home, that builds homes locally for wounded veterans returning from active duty and their families.

Since the Benefit Homes Project began, approximately $13M has been raised and 115 homes have been built.

COREY CONSTRUCTION
“Corey Construction is honored to take part in the GHBA Benefit Homes Project by donating the decking and roofing labor for this ASGi project,” said Jason Hawthorne, South Texas division president. “Knowing that proceeds from the sale of the home will benefit two local charities is why this donation is so important to our organization. We see the significance of giving back to the communities where we not only live, but work in as well.”

In 1999, Bryan Huddleston founded Corey Construction. Encouraged and supported by his customers, he focused on turnkey roofing. He developed turnkey operations at Corey Construction and became known by homebuilders and homeowners for delivering quality and speed. Mike Budworth, a longtime friend of Bryan’s, joined Corey Construction in 2003 and became a part owner and vice president in 2005. That year, the company began distributing roofing materials to the construction industry under the name H&S Building Materials, LP. With a pulse on the market, the company expanded to offer commercial and multifamily turnkey roofing services to their customers. Supported by their existing customer base, a new division, Corey Construction Commercial Services, was formed.
