SMC’s Million Dollar Circle Tops $10 Billion in New Home Sales for 2022

The Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA) Sales & Marketing Council (SMC) recently honored the Million Dollar Circle winners at a Mardi Gras themed event held at the House of Blues. The Million Dollar Circle awards is a nationally-recognized program that spotlights industry sales professionals during a calendar year, recognizing new home sales achievements of sales persons, sales managers, and this year, REALTORS® (brokers, broker-associates, sales associates) in Houston for 2022 closed new home sales.

Awards are based on new home sales in a year in excess of $1 million. The long list of honorees represent more than $10.26 Billion in combined closed sales for the 2022 calendar year!

With more than 200 awards presented that evening, the figures reflect the strength of Houston’s new home buyer market. The Million Dollar Circle event saw more than 170 platinum recipients, meaning 170 awards presented to individuals with sales of $10 million or more. Those figures are a true representation of Houston’s stable economy.


The award categories were: Bronze ($1 million – $2 million); Silver ($2 million – $5 million); Gold ($5 million – $10 million); and Platinum ($10 million and up).

The top three individual Platinum honorees were: Karl Ermisch with D.R. Horton, $58.5 Million; Erika McKay with D.R. Horton, $50.4 Million; and Colleen Ellison, CSP, MCSP, ASGI Homes, $45.8 Million.

The 2022 results speak volumes about what we can expect for 2023.

The Sales & Marketing Council operates under the umbrella of the Greater Houston Builders Association and is a chapter of the national Sales and Marketing Council (NSMC) under the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).

The council consists of GHBA members who are dedicated to the professional sales or marketing-related disciplines of the industry, including new home sales and those who support the activity of new home sales. The SMC includes employees of home builders, developers and associate members.

The SMC is committed to the education, motivation and growth of its membership – those who represent the epitome of professionalism in marketing, merchandising, and sales of new homes. The Sales and Marketing Council is responsible for the Houston’s Best PRISM Awards each year, which help promote builders and developers to the public as well as reward them for their stellar performance in the industry. Council activities include: meetings, dinners, awards, seminars, charity work and fun events.
