At the March 25 Houston City Council meeting, Council unanimously passed creating an after-hour program for the disciplines within the Office of City Engineering like the Stormwater and Traffic departments. To utilize the program, applicants must pay a $500.01 fee in exchange guaranteed review by the next day.
While our industry is generally opposed to fee increases for the sake of fee increases, this optional program provides a tool that can be used to expedite reviews and can ultimately save users money if the carry costs exceed the after-hours fee.
The GHBA shared support of the ordinance with the mayor and council members, and we thank them for approving this initiative.
