Dozens of vendors, suppliers, trades, and other guests joined Empire Communities in breaking ground on June 22 on a homesite where a GHBA Benefit Home will be constructed. The lot, donated by Bold Fox Development, is located in Venetian Pines in Conroe, Texas. This is the second Benefit Home that Empire Communities has built for this 43-year-old charity fundraiser. The majority of proceeds from the sale of the home will benefit two local charities.

Each year, two to three homes are built for the Benefit Homes Project with donated land, materials, and services by GHBA members. The homes offer a variety of popular features and amenities. They are sold at market value and proceeds benefit HomeAid Houston and Operation Finally Home. Since the fundraiser began, more than $13 million has been raised.

“Empire Communities is honored to take part in this charity fundraiser that benefits two worthy causes,” said Tracy Brown, Houston division president. “We are excited to partner with our loyal vendors and suppliers on the construction of this Benefit Home, and are grateful for their commitment to supporting the project through their incredible generosity.”

Empire Communities’ Walkerton Plan

Empire Communities is constructing the single-story, 1,774 sq. ft. Walkerton Plan. The home offers four bedrooms, two baths, an open concept kitchen with a dining area and living room. At the back of the Walkerton, a spacious primary bedroom features ample privacy and impressive backyard views, as well as an expansive walk-in closet and dual sinks in the ensuite bath.

“This is an exciting time for the GHBA Benefit Homes Project,” said Scott Merovitch. “Partnering with Empire Communities and Bold Fox Development to build in this new community in Conroe is a huge opportunity to have a presence in Montgomery County and in a neighborhood dedicated to affordable new homes from the upper $200s. We can’t thank both the builder and the developer enough for making this generous commitment.”
