Another Benefit Home is underway! The Greater Houston Builders Association recently celebrated the groundbreaking of its newest Benefit Home in Bridgeland, marking another milestone in a program that has supported housing-related charities for more than four decades.
Now in its 46th year, the Benefit Homes Program continues to bring together builders, developers, and industry partners with a shared goal: to make a lasting impact in the community through the construction and sale of a home that benefits GHBA’s key non-profit partners. This year’s project is a collaboration between Newmark Homes and Howard Hughes Holdings, two industry leaders committed to giving back while showcasing quality craftsmanship and thoughtful design.
The groundbreaking event brought together representatives from GHBA, HomeAid Houston, Operation Finally Home, and the project’s building partners to celebrate the start of a home that will ultimately support meaningful causes. Proceeds from the sale of the home will benefit HomeAid Houston, which works to build and maintain housing for individuals experiencing homelessness, and Operation Finally Home, which provides custom homes and home modifications for wounded veterans, first responders, and their families. A portion of the proceeds also goes to the GHBA Charitable Foundation, which offers scholarships and financial support for young people and underrepresented groups to train as skilled workers and business owners.
Both Operation Finally Home and HomeAid Houston were founded under the umbrella of the GHBA, reflecting the association’s long-standing commitment to addressing housing needs beyond the jobsite. By supporting these organizations, the program extends its reach far beyond a single home, helping provide safe housing, independence, and stability for individuals and families across the Greater Houston area.
“For us, building homes has always been about more than construction. It’s about strengthening the communities around us,” said Jeff Dye, president of Newmark Homes. “Organizations like HomeAid Houston have a profound impact on families experiencing hardship, and we are proud to stand alongside our industry partners to help create meaningful change.” Newmark Homes has been a HomeAid Hero for more than 16 years, donating a portion of proceeds from each home sold to support the organization’s mission.
Located within the award-winning Bridgeland community, the home will reflect the quality and innovation that today’s buyers expect, while also serving a greater purpose. The partnership with Howard Hughes Holdings underscores the importance of community-focused development, where thoughtful planning and collaboration extend beyond homes to create lasting value for residents and the broader region.
