Labor Day will soon be in the rearview mirror, school is back in session, and if you’re in the remodeling business, you know exactly what that phone call sounds like: “Hey, can we get this kitchen done before the holidays?”
Just like our businesses shift into high gear to get projects across the finish line before Thanksgiving and Christmas, the Remodelers Council is hitting a similar stride. Back at our February roundtable, members spoke up loud and clear about wanting more interaction, practical education, and real connections instead of just sitting on the sidelines.
We’ve already started putting those ideas into action, building on the great energy from our August 13 luncheon, where we completely flipped the script. Instead of the traditional setup where a panel sits up on a stage talking at the room, our panel—featuring myself, CBC President George Gomez, and GHBA President Chris Bolio—brought the conversation right down to the tables. We didn’t stay on the stage; we walked around, sat right down with you, and tackled questions and topics pulled straight from the input you gave us back in February.

As leaders who have been in the trenches, we know you are here to gain real insights, share experiences, and get involved, not sit on the sidelines. That’s what this culture shift is all about: rolling up our sleeves and collaborating side-by-side.
This year has always been about more than just showing up to meetings (and eating your chicken). It’s about the Year of the Leader and fostering genuine mentorship across our ranks. Whether you’re a brand-new member just finding your footing or one of our longtime veterans who built the foundation of this council: before you ride off into the sunset, we need you. You are the mentors who built what we have today, and your experience is what we need to carry it forward. Come back out, be the mentors we need, and show us you’re proud of where we’re heading.
That brings us to our biggest push of the year: RMC’s annual charity project. This is our chance to give back to the community, do something genuinely rewarding, and build powerful relationships side-by-side with fellow members. When we rally together, we show the true strength and heart of the Remodelers Council. We need all hands-on deck, so stay tuned for details coming your way soon, and get ready to roll up your sleeves.
As we look ahead to the rest of the year, the momentum we’re building is entirely up to us. This is our council, our industry, and our community. Let’s keep showing up, keep pushing each other to grow, and make this a year we’re all proud to look back on.
