Dozens of companies are helping to celebrate the 40th anniversary of GHBA’s Benefit Homes Project by stepping up to ensure the home is built at little cost by donating their materials, labor and services to its construction. HistoryMaker Homes recruited these companies and has completed its Alder Plan in Sierra Vista, a Land Tejas community.

Proceeds from the sale of the home will be donated to two local charities, HomeAid Houston and Operation Finally Home. Since the project began, nearly $12 million has been raised.

Vendors donating include: Allpoints Surveying, DPIS Builder Services, Excell Foundations, Universal Forest Products, Windstorm Group, Mohawk, TWI, Country Wide Roofing, Deep Blue Comfort, Rock Materials, Builders Choice Inc., Royal Baths/Countersource, Flooring Services, Advantage Gutters, Factory Builder Stores, Sherwin-Williams Paint, Builders FirstSource, Perfection Supply and Jacobs Overhead Door.

Each year two or three homes are built for the Benefit Homes Project. The homes offer a variety of the most popular features and amenities on the market today. They are sold at market value and proceeds benefit HomeAid Houston and Operation Finally Home.

“We are honored to complete our Benefit Home as the GHBA marks its 40th anniversary in 2020,” said Mickey Pizzitola, HistoryMaker’s Houston division president.” HistoryMaker has an extensive base of vendors, suppliers and trades who are willing to give back to the community. We are honored to be able to build this home with their contributions so that two local charities will be able to change the lives of those in need. We look forward to the upcoming Vendor Appreciation Luncheon where we can formally say thank you and also celebrate the 40th anniversary.”

The Alder Plan is a 3,176 square foot, two-story home featuring an open and spacious home design with five bedrooms and four bathrooms. This plan also showcases a downstairs master bedroom and generous game room upstairs as well as a three-car garage.

About the Builder:

Family owned and operated since 1949, HistoryMaker Homes launched in Dallas-Fort Worth and expanded over the decades to become a premier builder of more than 800 homes across the region in 16 developments.

“HistoryMaker has entered the Houston market with a beautiful line-up of designs,” said Terry Swenson, PR director of the GHBA. “They were familiar with the Benefit Homes Project and were quick to commit to participate.”

“Building their Alder Plan in partnership with Land Tejas, a longtime supporter of the GHBA, is a win for both the future homebuyer and the two charities receiving the proceeds from the sale. We can’t thank them enough for their generosity,” Swenson added.

Contact Terry Swenson at (281) 664-1442 or mpeters@ghba.org for more information on how you can participate as a Benefit Home builder/developer or donate labor/materials as a Project vendor.
