The GHBA’s professional designation program is a testament to the organization’s dedication to fostering continuous learning and growth within the home building and remodeling industry. Through a structured curriculum of continuing education, participants enhance their skills, stay updated on industry trends, and demonstrate their commitment to delivering superior quality and service to clients.

“I elected to pursue GHBA’s Professional Builder designation to demonstrate my commitment to the building industry and continuous learning,” said Jonas Rodriguez, one of the recent graduates. “Understanding the tried-and-true best building practices as well as keeping up to date with the latest building techniques and installation methods is a must in our industry, and GHBA’s coursework delivered on all the above. I’m proud to be a graduate of the GHBA Professional Builder program!”

There are three designation paths to choose from: Professional Builder (PB), Professional Builder Partner (PBP), and Professional Remodeler (PR). Coursework is designed for project managers, superintendents, residential builders, remodelers, engineers, general contractors, trades, suppliers, vendors and other industry partners.

The program’s curriculum is tailored to professionals in the Gulf Coast area and covers a wide range of topics essential to success in the industry, including best practices in construction management, sustainable building techniques, customer service, and business management strategies. It also covers the “ABCs” of building, in topics like concrete and framing, roofing, electrical, HVAC, jobsite safety, and more. By completing the program, graduates not only gain valuable knowledge and skills but also earn a respected credential that sets them apart as leaders in their field.

“I’ve been going to GHBA classes for over 10 years now and learn something new each time,” said graduate Jeff Rohrbach. “Dave [Yelovich] and the other instructors are always very informative (and entertaining), especially when it comes to the latest and greatest building practices. I’ll be going to many more classes in the years to come.”

As GHBA celebrates the success of its inaugural class of graduates, the association encourages more members to take advantage of the professional designation program. Whether you’re a seasoned professional looking to expand your expertise or a newcomer seeking to establish yourself in the industry, the program offers a valuable opportunity for growth and professional development.

“Continuous learning is key to staying ahead in our industry,” emphasized Bertrand. “We invite all members of GHBA to join us in investing in their professional development through our designation program.”
