On Wednesday, March 15, GHBA Secretary Adam Aschmann of Tilson Home Corporation gave testimony on H.B. 2024, the Residential Statute of Repose bill. H.B. 2024 is one of the bills highlighted as a top priority by our state association, and one of the bills we will advocate for at Legislative Rally Day on March 29.
H.B. 2024 proposes to provide builders with a significant incentive to provide homeowners with strong written warranties in exchange for a lowered SOR. This gives the homeowner a guarantee in writing of the builder’s responsibility, as well as reducing frivolous litigation, ultimately reducing housing costs.
