The Fort Bend County Commissioners Court recently passed a resolution streamlining the approval of driveway and right-of-way permits, which will now be handled at the staff level.
Under this resolution, the county engineer has been designated as the authorized official to approve permits that require bonds according to the regulations. The Commissioners Court has further granted interim authorization to the county engineer, empowering them to not only approve permits with bonding requirements but also to review, accept, and execute any necessary documents on behalf of Fort Bend County. This includes documents related to surety bonds issued under the regulations.
These changes officially came into effect at the beginning of the new year in 2024.
