The City of Houston’s Building Code Enforcement Plan Review Section is beginning to pilot a new booking site called Microsoft Bookings. Earlier this year, the City Engineer’s Public Utilities and Permits office was the first city department to launch the new site.

At a recent CIC meeting, Bryon King, the City’s Building Official, announced the plan to implement the new booking site. He also reported that there are currently 2900 plans in the system, down from 4200 a year ago. Structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electric are meeting their goal of 15 days in the system. Planning and OCE are longer. The new booking system may help speed up the process.

The BCE Plan Review will offer online appointments to review plan comments for structural commercial plan review and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing commercial plan review. More information and a preview of the booking system here
