Chesmar Homes and the community of Elyson launched the first of two Benefit Homes for 2017 at their official groundbreaking ceremony in January. Chesmar Homes is donating construction management of its Poplar Plan. Newland Communities, the developer of Elyson, donated the homesite.
This is the 37th year for the this GHBA charity fundraiser that has raised nearly $10 million. GHBA members donate materials, labor and services and the majority of the proceeds from the sale of each home will be donated beginning in 2017 to HomeAid Houston and Operation Finally Home.
The second home for 2017 is being built by Westin Homes in the community of Lago Mar. That groundbreaking is scheduled for late March.
