Signorelli, First America Homes and local charities celebrate the groundbreaking of a home that will benefit the GHBA’s charity partners, HomeAid Houston and Operation Finally Home.

The Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA) proudly announces First America Homes, a Signorelli Company, broke ground for the GHBA’s Benefit Homes Project, located at Bluestem, a master-planned community in Brookshire by The Signorelli Company. The GHBA’s annual charity project led by Houston-area builders and developers, the Benefit Homes Project, benefits local charities, HomeAid Houston, Operation Finally Home and the GHBA Charitable Foundation.
“It takes a tremendous amount of effort, resources and collaboration to bring a project like this to life,” Scott Merovitch, chairman of the GHBA’s Benefit Homes Project, said. “We are excited to celebrate the groundbreaking of a home that will generate proceeds to support two incredible local charities, HomeAid Houston and Operation Finally Home. We are deeply grateful to The Signorelli Company and First America Homes for their generosity and commitment will make a lasting impact.”
Now in its 45th year, the GHBA Benefit Homes Project has raised over $14 million for local charities. This home is projected to be listed at $368,591. Each year, GHBA-member developers, builders and vendor partners donate land, labor, services and materials to build two homes per year from start to finish. The homes are then sold at market price, with most proceeds going toward Operation Finally Home, an organization providing housing and housing solutions to wounded military veterans and first responders, as well as HomeAid Houston, a charity providing resources for transitional shelter providers that serves people at risk of homelessness.
“We are honored to use our skills and resources to do what we do every day – build the finest communities where families can live, work and play,” The Signorelli Company CEO Danny Signorelli said. “As a company, we are always searching for ways to serve the community, and this charity project is the perfect fit for us to be able to give back.”
First America Homes is building its Mansfield (Elevation C) layout from their Heritage Collection, which features five bedrooms, two and a half baths and 2,416 square feet of space. Due to the generous donations of First America Homes’ trade partners, this home will include a luxury master bath with a separate garden tub and a walk-in shower, an expansive 10×20 foot covered patio equipped with a custom outdoor kitchen, modern iron railing, a built-in wine rack, a metal roof accent on the front porch and so many more options.

“We’ve had the privilege to work directly with HomeAid Houston on several charity projects that have impacted our local community. The Benefit Homes Project is another great opportunity for our team to come together and broaden the scope of impact on even more lives right here in Houston,” First America Homes President Dave Barnhart said.
Bluestem, a 365-acre master-planned community only 20 minutes northwest of Katy opened for home sales just last spring. Homeowners at Bluestem will enjoy popular recreational options that include a playground area, pickleball court, multi-purpose court, artificial turf area, covered pavilion, parking area and miles of scenic walking trails. Bluestem’s plaza, complete with a grove of shade trees and nesting picnic tables, offers residents a place to relax and to gather, creating perfect moments for reflection or for a conversation with neighbors. Construction is expected to begin in spring 2025, with an anticipated completion date in fall 2025. Home prices are $229,990 to $400,000 and range from 1,364 to 2,946 square feet.
