During the month of August, Pape-Dawson Engineers engaged in an exciting “FUNdraising” initiative benefitting the Pape-Dawson Engineers Charitable Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit established in 2015 to honor the company’s 50th anniversary in hopes of furthering their community impact.

This year’s fundraising theme was a “Pape-Dawson Summer Camp,” where employees participated in common camp-themed activities to enhance their teamwork skills and expand their knowledge about one another while raising funds for the community. At the end of their fundraising efforts, Pape-Dawson Engineers donated $10,000 to Lunches of Love and $25,000 to Casa de Esperanza. Lunches of Love is devoted to helping end childhood hunger through Fort Bend County by providing free nutritious meals to children in need during weekends and the holiday season. Casa de Esperanza is a Houston-based nonprofit breaking the cycle of child abuse and neglect for at-risk infants, children and their families.

In addition to a monetary donation, Pape-Dawson Engineers volunteered their time to decorate bags for Lunches of Love, further enhancing their direct influence and adding a personal touch that brightens the day of every child who receives one. Pape-Dawson Engineers also volunteered at Casa de Esperanza by helping with campus beautification projects to create a welcoming environment for the children and staff. Hoping to contribute to the well-being of young children, Pape-Dawson employees were able to spend their time enriching themselves in Casa de Esperanza’s mission.

Pape-Dawson’s FUNdraising event was not only an opportunity for the team to make an impact on the community, but it was also a fun team-building experience for the Houston office. With the success of this year’s efforts, the team is already planning how they can contribute and make a difference in the community next year.
