Taylor Morrison Honors Vendors and Trades Donating to Benefit Home

Taylor Morrison Homes’ vendors, suppliers and trades join Taylor Morrison staff, GHBA leadership, and the two charities that benefit from the Benefit Homes Project at a recent Vendor Appreciation Luncheon held at the Grand Vista Recreation and Pool Center.

Dozens of generous vendors and suppliers were honored at a recent vendor appreciation luncheon hosted by Taylor Morrison. The companies donated materials, labor and services to the construction of the Benefit Home that was completed in the Taylor Morrison community of Grand Vista. When sold, the home will raise funds for HomeAid Houston and Operation Finally Home.

Taylor Morrison’s Purchasing Department recruited suppliers and trades to team with them on construction of the Dahlia Plan, a 1,532 sq. ft., one-story home with three bedrooms, two baths and a two-car garage. The home is elegant with a splash of charm and offers optimal living space for growing families.

Representatives from many of the donating companies were on-hand to celebrate the completion of construction and to receive their award. Guests were treated to a barbecue buffet that was sponsored (for the 16th year!) by Allpoints Surveying, with Jeff Solomon and Kendall McDermott overseeing the lunch.

Representatives from the charities, the GHBA and the builder/developer teams showed their appreciation of the donations by saying a few words. Speakers were, Scott Merovitch, chairman of the Benefit Homes Project and city president with Chesmar Homes; Todd Rasmussen, division president with Taylor Morrison; Aimee Bertrand, GHBA CEO; Lee Kirgan with Operation Finally Home; Carole Brady, executive director of HomeAid Houston; and Roy Blum, construction project manager with Taylor Morrison.

“Taylor Morrison Homes was honored to take part in this year’s GHBA Benefit Homes Project,” said Todd. “Working with our generous vendors and suppliers was a key component in making this a successful build for two valuable charities.”

Since the Project began, more than $12 million has been raised. This is the second Benefit Home that Taylor Morrison has built in Grand Vista on a homesite they donated.

A second Benefit Home was recently completed in the community of Sunterra. HistoryMaker Homes built its Hemlock Plan on a homesite donated by Land Tejas, the developer of the community. This is HistoryMaker’s second Benefit Home in the past three years, and it is Land Tejas’s 19th lot donation.
