Protect Yourself from Scam Companies Posing as Our Publisher
We want to alert you to a potential scam that has recently come to our attention. Several GHBA members have reported receiving suspicious emails and invoices from companies falsely claiming to be affiliated with GHBA advertising opportunities.
Please note that E&M Consulting is the only authorized publisher for GHBA advertising, including our Membership Directory, Houston Builder magazine, and the Marketing Guide. Any legitimate communication regarding GHBA advertising will come directly from E&M.

Unfortunately, entities including Elegance Publications, Marbur Media, Building in America, and Building in Washington have been contacting members and presenting what appear to be ad renewals and invoices for GHBA-related publications. These emails often contain ad copy that may have been lifted from legitimate GHBA publications you’ve previously paid for, making them seem credible.
Please be aware: GHBA is not affiliated with any of the following companies:
- Elegance Publications
- Marbur Media
- Building in America
- Building in Washington
These groups are not authorized to represent GHBA or our advertising programs. Their goal appears to be to confuse members into approving ads under the false belief that they are renewing with us.
If you are contacted by any outside party and are unsure about the legitimacy of their request, do not respond or approve anything—instead, reach out to us directly to verify.
