By Cody Miller, GHBA Director of Government Affairs
Every home our members build does more than house a family. It creates jobs, drives the local economy and generates tax revenue for the communities we serve. Now we have the numbers to prove it.
GHBA partnered with the University of Houston’s Real Estate Center on a new study measuring the economic impact of housing across Greater Houston. The study shows what 100 new homes generate in economic output, jobs and tax revenue for the region as a whole and for each of the 12 counties GHBA serves.
GHBA will use these findings when meeting with elected officials and the public to show why housing matters. You can explore the full study at BuildingHomesForTexasFamilies.com.
Want to learn more? We’ll go through the study in detail at the Government Affairs Committee meeting on Wednesday, October 14, at 1:30 p.m. at the GHBA offices. The meeting is free for GHBA members. Register here
