Meet Crystal Gregg, GHBA’s office manager and special events assistant. Crystal joined the GHBA team in July full-time, after filling in for what she thought would be a short term assignment, while another team member was on maternity leave. GHBA CEO, Aimee Bertrand, asked Crystal a few important questions to help GHBA members get to know her better. Many may already know here from her decades as a member of GHBA!
Aimee Bertrand (AB): Where did you grow up?
Crystal Gregg (CG): I’m a second-generation Houstonian and a lifelong Astros fan! I love growing, learning, and participating in the vibrancy of this fantastic city!

AB: Tell us about your work before joining GHBA.
CG: Prior to joining GHBA, I worked as a national business developer and enjoyed traveling to conferences and golf tournaments. I loved meeting interesting individuals in the home building and lending industry.
AB: What are you particularly proud of?
CG: I’m particularly proud of my gorgeous son and my vivacious parents. They remind me that every day and every moment can make a difference, so I try to make a blessed footprint each day.
AB: Do you have a favorite memory from childhood?
CG: YES!! I loved spending each weekend water skiing on Lake Livingston. I have many happy memories of doing a bit of dirt biking, despite the bruises and scrapes.
AB: What made you decide to come to work for GHBA?
CG: The members! The camaraderie, loyalty and authentic friendships found in all of the members is very fulfilling.
AB: What events or projects are you looking forward to working on with the GHBA team and why?
CG: All the events come with surprises and excitement, so I really cannot choose just one. Although, I do prefer those that take place in air conditioning!
AB: Do you have any pets?
CG: Yes, and her name is Tulip. She is an Aussie Doodle who catches frisbees, leaps over eight-foot fences, and likes to snuggle after a good bath.
AB: What do you do when you are away from the office?
CG: I love volunteering through my church and spending as much time as possible with my parents and son. I also love Second Saturdays at the Silos, farmer markets, and cooking classes.
AB: What is your go-to restaurant recommendation for guests from out-of-town?
CG: There are so many authentic and regional restaurants in Houston that originate from Houstonians’ home countries, you can never choose or lose! Asian, Italian, and Mexican, are all favorite cuisines of mine. I suggest following “Eat Like a Local” on KPRC 2.
