We were impressed with the floorplan as it offered the space we needed for our family that includes four children. The Hemlock is an open design that will provide great family time and an amazing place to be as our children grow. We also looked all over the west side and were immediately impressed with Sunterra and the upcoming amenities. Knowing the sale of this home raises funds for two local charities, was an added bonus.

Serving the community remains our focus. We are energized when each of our buyers achieve homeownership. This project is a multiplier. We not only get to put a family into our newest community, Williams Reserve East, but the proceeds will go to help many more.

My wife and I were drawn to the NorthGrove community initially. We are both in education and the schools where we work are close to NorthGrove. Once we toured the Chesmar Benefit Home we were impressed with how many amenities there were in this particular home. It was also an added bonus that our purchase would give back to the community, and most specifically HomeAid and Operation Finally Home. It is a rewarding feeling to know we may have made a difference in peoples’ lives.

We are honored to complete our Benefit Home as the GHBA marks its 40th anniversary in 2020. HistoryMaker has an extensive base of vendors, suppliers and trades who are willing to give back to the community. We are honored to be able to build this home with their contributions so that two local charities will be able to change the lives of those in need.

One of the very first things we did when setting up Land Tejas was to develop a partnership with the GHBA. When they approached us with the first Benefit Homes opportunity in 1998, we jumped at the chance. Not only does this cause help the greater Houston community, but it strengthens our bond with the builders who have been so loyal to us over the years. We had heard about the Benefit Homes Project before and were familiar with how it worked. We knew that the homes often had extra amenities or upgrades, and that was very appealing to us. It was also a win for us because we were proud that by buying this home, we were helping homeless families and wounded veterans. When I saw my wife’s face as she walked in the home, it was another reason to know we had truly ‘come home.’

The fact that the sale of the home was going to benefit important local charities, was one of the reasons we were interested in purchasing that particular home. We had heard about HomeAid Houston, and that touched us because I have a brother who is homeless in Houston somewhere. Knowing that by purchasing this Benefit Home, some of the profits are given to HomeAid to build shelters for the homeless, was a win-win for our whole family.

We are thrilled to be building a Benefit Home. We have built several homes for this GHBA fundraiser and it was a very rewarding experience for both us and our vendors.

The Chesmar Benefit Home was a match design-wise for us.
